Ibu Sambal – "Mother of Chilli"

Founded by husband-and-wife duo Amir and Yani, Ibu Sambal is a celebration of family, resilience, and bold Indonesian flavours.

For Yani, food is more than sustenance it's connection to roots, family, and memory. With a background in finance and buying, she never expected to end up in the food world. But through family and catering, she rediscovered her real passion: the flavours she grew up with. When Amir a sales and marketing pro who tells it like it is first tried their sambal and said, "This is something special, everyone needs to try this," they knew they had to share it with the world.

Ibu Sambal is inspired by Yani's late grandmother (pictured above), who believed no meal was complete without a fiery kick. Even when doctors told her to stop, she'd sneak chilli into every dish. Those rebellious moments small acts of defiance against bland food and boring rules meant everything. That passion for spice runs in our blood, and we've poured it into every jar.

Every jar carries her spirit, her stubbornness, and her unwavering love for the perfect bite.
